Organic acids

Organic acids have a key role in the regulation of a several basic cellular processes, e.g. the modification of cellular pH or the redox state. They also play a role in the control of various biochemical and physiological processesĀ in vivo.

The organic acids have a positive effect on feed quality and animal performance, it is considered as a safe alternative to antibiotic growth promoters.

Nearly all the organic acids used in animal nutrition, such as formic acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, sorbic or citric acids have an aliphatic structure and represent a source of energy for the cells.

Vitac Pharmaceutical Canada routinely test organic acids, the quantification can be done on pure samples as for the standardization, or as organic acids included in different matrixes.

Among the matrixes tested

  • Raw material
  • Animal nutrition additives
  • Pet food
  • Natural health supplements
  • Cosmetics
  • Multivitamins tablets
